Self Defence

Production photo by director, Lucinda Bray. Featuring actors Rebecca Wass and Myles Hague.

This one-act play is about a victim of domestic abuse, Hannah who decides to join a self-defence class – as much as for a social outlet, but also, as a means of defending herself. With the support of her fellow class mates, whose light touch relieves the tense atmosphere she is living in, Hannah is empowered to assert herself.

In 2012, Self Defence was professionally staged over three successful nights, by Empowerment Theatre Company, in Norwich, Norfolk.

Since 2014, Self Defence has been available to purchase through Lazy Bee Scripts. (Link below.) And in 2016, the one-act play was bought and performed by a US high school.
